Our Story

Narra Health was born out of frustration — the kind that comes from working iinside a healthcare system that you know could be so much better.
We’re a Vancouver-based health IT company, and our founders aren’t just technologists, they’re healthcare professionals who lived the gaps firsthand. The fragmented records. The communication breakdowns. The interrupted patients. The sense that everyone is working hard but the system keeps getting in the way.
We started Narra Health because we believed that better-designed tools for communication and information sharing could change that — and that people who actually understand healthcare should be the ones building them.
More signal, less noise.
Our Name
The name Narra has a couple of layers to it, and both felt right. The obvious one is narrative — because healthcare is fundamentally about stories. A doctor’s first job is to take a history, to listen, to piece together who you are and what’s brought you to that moment. Every patient has a story. The problem is that story often gets fragmented, lost in translation between providers, buried in paperwork, or simply never passed on. Narra exists to help keep that story intact.
The other meaning is quieter but equally meaningful. The Narra is a tropical hardwood tree native to the Philippines — and its national tree. It’s known for its strength and for the way its root systems interconnect. That felt like the right image for what healthcare should be: deeply rooted, and genuinely connected.
